| Here is a somewhat rare and interesting navigation radio from the early late 30s/early 40s. This set's circuit is somewhat typical of pre-war battery portables except that this radio has an extra stage of RF and....... two bands! One band is a nav band and the other slightly below standard broadcast to slightly above. These radios were used by pilots for backup navigation. This one is in very nice condition and is working. We put a D flashlight cell and ten 9V batteries in it and voila! Off it goes. Very sensitive on both bands. Picks up loads of NDB's, some several hundred miles away in the daytime. Asking |
