THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Sterling? Chanticleer?? Five tubes, plus ballast and eyetube. BCB and MW (1300-2400 kc) A strange set unlisted. very similar in circuitry to a Packard-Bell 48 series, right down to the "stationized" dial. The MW band covered the old police band and nautical, but no more. Works well on BCB with an external antenna. Electronically restored with new components, the eyetube is original and usable. The set has a four position band switch: BCB, MW, and three BCB stations electonically tuned and acessable to set from the bottom. There are multiple dial lights to indicate position. The dial face was damaged near the eye tube (see photo) but no calibration is missing. A new eye tube can be added for $25. Good looking cabinet was refinished and a new grille cloth added. |
