Seven tubes plus NOS eye tube, BCB and SW 1.6-18Mhz in two bands. All electrolytic and paper caps replaced. Nicely refinished in fresh handmixed shellac. Works well on all bands; a highly sensitive set, well engineered with ample volume and wonderful warm tube sound--full tone control. RF control for BCB prevents overloading. Stromberg Carlson was a true leader in quality craftsmanship and reigned as the "Cadillac" of American radio manufacturers. Included is a copy of the original operating instructions. The wood knobs and dial glass are perfect, the dial face one of the most pleasing designs of all antique radios. The set has coarse and fine tuning to aid in DX reception. An outside antenna is would be a great help to utilize the set's capabilities. The cabinet does have some issues, a few missing pieces on the left side, a patch on the left front corner, and a dent on the front top. |
