| This model II is a very rare find as it appears to be in new and never used condition. I was told the previous owner collected but never used it. This "Thrill Box" version employs the interchangeable 2.5 volt or 6.3 volt pentobe tubes. The RF stage uses either a type 58 or a type 6D6 tube with the stage gain controlled by changing the cathode bias by means of the variable control. The detector is impedance coupled to a type 27 or a 76 triode tube. The horizontally mounted potentiometer is controlled by the Oreo cookie style thumb dial below the dial knob. It comes with two pairs of NOS coils, one pair of 63A - 40 meters and a pair of 65A - 160 meters. |
