THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is one of the most sought and cherished "Grand Cathedrals" radio to own. Atwater Kent was a company known for two decades as the finest maker of production radios available. This particular model is a great example of the extreme cabinetmaking and advanced electronics. You can see the finely crafted cabinet using exotic zebrawood accents on the "arch." The chassis is a tremendous receiver using seven tubes, which was an extremely high count for this period. The receiver is a super-het, which offers a terrific sensitivity and selectivity. I bought this radio as part of a collection, and it has been well restored. The radio plays loud and clear, and with a very stable profile. The tone control also works well, allowing you to tailor the output to your tastes. This is a large radio offering tremendous sound. This is an investment quality radio to own! 19-1/2"H x 16"W x 11"D. |
