Atwater Kent 80 Cathedral (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 80 Cathedral (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is one of the most sought and cherished "Grand Cathedrals" radio to own. Atwater Kent was a company known for two decades as the finest maker of production radios available. This particular model is a great example of the extreme cabinetmaking and advanced electronics. You can see the finely crafted cabinet using exotic zebrawood accents on the "arch." The chassis is a tremendous receiver using seven tubes, which was an extremely high count for this period. The receiver is a super-het, which offers a terrific sensitivity and selectivity. I bought this radio as part of a collection, and it has been well restored. The radio plays loud and clear, and with a very stable profile. The tone control also works well, allowing you to tailor the output to your tastes. This is a large radio offering tremendous sound. This is an investment quality radio to own! 19-1/2"H x 16"W x 11"D.
