THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is a rare model from Stewart-Warner's 1938 line up that seldom turns up today. Small in size, yet impressive in its Art Deco designed Ingraham wood cabinet featuring a stylish wraparound grille and amazing sled shape made of both stump and striped walnut with maple inlay. Portions were refinished with toners, but the front panel, including all of the original decal numbers, are original. The dial pointer is illuminated at the tip of the pointer so you can see it in a dimly lit room. The chassis has been completely cleaned & gone through with all new capacitors, out of tolerance resistors changed, good set of strong tested tubes, & a new line cord. It plays strong across the dial with a long wire antenna attached. If you're looking for a pre-war wood cabinet radio that really pops, yet takes up very little room, this one is just 9-1/2"W x 6-3/4"H x 6-1/4"D. |
