Silvertone 6051 (1946)
(wood tube table radio)

Silvertone 6051 (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

There are relatively few radios that can truly be called "like new." This six-tube example is the closest to new I've found in a mid 1940's radio. The original cabinet finish is virtually flawless right down to the original Silvertone decal. Perfect original grille cloth, even the knobs still have their functions marked in white on them. And the most amazing aspect, the paper label with schematic and parts list on the bottom of the cabinet looks like new too! Beautiful glass dial scale, and an exceptionally clean chassis makes me believe this radio wasn't used much and when it was, it was very well taken care of. Even so, the chassis was gone through, and all filter and wax capacitors changed. The controls were cleaned and lubricated to make them move as smoothly as they did when new. It's a strong playing radio with lots of volume, easily receiving all of my local stations with its large loop antenna. If you like to collect sets that are as original and close to new as possible, this one is a gem! 13-1/2"W x 8-1/2"H x 8-1/2"D.
