A Bluetooth/MP3 player 3.5mm cord has been installed for another listening option beyond the standard AM broadcasts. You can plug into the headphone port of your device and enjoy the music of your choice through the radio. Use as a standard AM radio or plug the cord into your device. I offer a quantity discount on my radios, so check out my other listings and drop me a line if you're interested in more than one at a time. The Philco "hippo" models have long been a favorite among collectors. This is a nice first year example that has been gone through with all new filter and paper capacitors, strong tested set of tubes, new line cord, controls cleaned and lubricated. It plays well across the AM band with its loop antenna. The cabinet is beautiful, with an all-natural finish and totally crack free. It has an amazing marble swirl pattern, one of the best I've ever seen! The dial scale is a bit cloudy between the painted side and the clear lens. Possibly a defect from new on as it would have had to happen when it was painted at the factory. But that is the only minor blemish on this classic hippo that even sports its original back cover! 12"W x 7-3/4"H x 7"D.
