Westinghouse WR-22 (1934)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Westinghouse WR-22 (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Art Deco Westinghouse is an amazingly well preserved 89-year-old radio! The cabinet finish (including the gold inlay stripe) and grille cloth are all original! Beautiful grille lattice work and the grille cloth looks like new; no fading or staining. Even the original square shaped knobs, totally unique and unobtainable today, scream Art Deco. The original cloth line cord is in nice condition too. Truly a time capsule! The five-tube chassis has been gone through with all new filter and paper caps. Tubes all test strong. Controls were cleaned and lubricated. Requires the antenna wire to be connected to an external antenna source to receive more distant stations. The antenna is connected directly to the volume control, so the louder you turn the volume, the stronger the stations come in (just the opposite of modern radios, start out loud and work your way down as you approach a strong station). 15-3/4"H x 11-1/4"W x 7-3/4"D.
