Crosley 167 "Dual Fiver" (1934)

Crosley 167 "Dual Fiver" (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
This compact Crosley was known as the Dual Fiver, standing for two bands (AM & now defunct Police band) & five tubes. It's the more scarce late production tombstone cabinet that features some bold Art Deco styling. Chassis has been re-capped, resistors checked and replaced as needed, good tubes installed, new cloth line cord, speaker wiring replaced, controls cleaned and lubricated. It plays as well as can be expected for an early TRF design with no AVC. These model Crosleys were not that sensitive; you really need a decent antenna attached to do much beyond the strong local stations. The cabinet has been refinished using spray toners. The grille cloth is original. If you're looking for a small Deco inspired tombstone radio with loads of style, this is one to consider. 13-3/4"H x 11"W x 8-1/2"D.
