General Television 5A5 (1946)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

General Television 5A5 (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This beautiful Art Deco radio, with its bold accent is elegant in its simplicity and at once highly appealing. The radio cabinet is made of glossy jet black Bakelite with beautiful contrasting ivory Tenite handle, grille, knobs, and dial face frame. Made by General Television & Radio Corp of Chicago, Illinois, model 5A5. The gold face features a stunning textured Deco pattern, with a red Saturn shaped plastic station indicator, beneath which "General Television" appears. The radio is a superb example of this General Television model. The Bakelite high-gloss cabinet and Tenite trim are in incredible original condition with no cracks, chips, burns, or repairs. The gold dial and dial cover are original and in great condition. Replacement back panel and period-correct power cord. It's picking up all my local stations loud and clear across the AM dial. Ready to display and play! Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 8-3/4"W x 7"H to top of the handle x 5-1/2"D.
