Emerson 744B "Bandstand" (1954)
(Plaskon tube table radio)

Emerson 744B "Bandstand" (1954)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The "Bandstand" radio, as we collectors call it, is definitely one of the most sought-after models of the 1950s and one of my favorite designs ever made. It came in many color combinations, this one being in beige with mahogany accents. The Plaskon cabinet with styrene dial face/grille, knobs and feet are all factory original and free of any cracks, chips, hairlines, or repairs. Having been hand polished, the cabinet is extremely clean with hardly any light surface scratches, just a few tiny spots that have been nicely touched up. Worth noting, the front styrene feet on this example are intact and in perfect shape, a rarity for this model. The original manufacturer's label is still attached to the bottom panel. The chassis has been cleaned and totally restored with all capacitors, electrolytics, weak tubes, front pilot light, and power cord replaced. It's now picking up all my local stations loud and clear across the AM dial. You'll be hard pressed to find another example in such excellent shape. Ready to display and play! Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 11"W x 9-1/4"H x 6-3/4"D.
