Philco PT-49 Transitone "Harp" (1940)
(wood tube table radio)

Philco PT-49 Transitone "Harp" (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Just restored! Introduced in June 1940 as part of Philco's 1941 lineup, just 5,700 sets were produced of this beautiful pre-War radio. The very striking harp-shaped walnut case with Zebrawood veneer trim was just refinished and hand polished to a gorgeous patina. Its vertical louvered grille is in mint condition. Its claw feet, knobs, speaker cloth, dial, dial cover and power cord are all original. The dial lights up beautifully in the dark. This set has been electronically restored and puts out big sound across the AM dial thanks to its five tubes and 6-inch electrodynamic speaker which provide outstanding resonant tone and great sensitivity. A portion of its bottom label remains. The back panel is a replacement. This is an excellent near mint example of an obscure radio that would be a terrific addition to any collection. Ready to display and play! Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 13"W x 9-1/2"H x 7"D.
