Philco PT-61 "Pagoda" AKA "Jewel Case" (1940)
(wood tube table radio)

Philco PT-61 "Pagoda" AKA "Jewel Case" (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here's your chance to add one of most beautiful and unique radios ever designed to your collection. Philco introduced the fabulous PT-61 in the summer or fall of 1939 as part of their line-up for the 1939/1940 model year. The cabinet has been beautifully restored and refinished to accentuate its three colorful rare wood veneers: Aspen in the upper half, Mexican Accra in the lower half, and Birch in the curved base. The set still retains its original label on the bottom, its original swirled Bakelite knobs and back panel. The metal dial with red dial pointer is also original and lights up beautifully in the dark. The plastic dial lens and grille cloth are replacements and in perfect condition. It has a new power cord. The chassis has had a complete restoration with all weak tubes and capacitors replaced, all contacts cleaned and moving parts lubricated so it's picking up all my local stations loud and clear across the AM dial. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 10"W x 8-1/2"H x 6"D.
