General Television & Radio 5A5 (1946)

General Television & Radio 5A5 (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
This great Art Deco radio, with its bold accent is elegant in its simplicity and at once highly appealing. The radio cabinet is made of glossy jet black Bakelite with beautiful contrasting red handle, grille, knobs, and dial face frame. Made by General Television & Radio Corp of Chicago, Illinois, model "5A5." The gold face features a stunning textured Deco pattern, with a red Saturn shaped plastic station indicator, beneath which "General Television" appears. The radio is a superb example of this General Television model. The Bakelite high-gloss cabinet is in incredible original condition with no cracks, chips, burns, or repairs. The gold dial and dial cover are original and in great condition. This set also retains its original cardboard back with manufacturer's information imprinted. It's picking up all my local stations loud and clear across the AM dial. Ready to display and play! Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 8-3/4"W x 7"H to top of the handle x 5-1/2"D.
