THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Sold in Ebony and Swedish Red versions, this obscure split-level radio is one of the coolest mid-century cabinet designs that Philco ever produced. It's this version with a "Swedish Red" painted cabinet which is rarely seen. The five-tube chassis has been totally restored and picks up stations loud and clear across the AM band. Its Lucite gold waffle grille is in mint condition as are the knobs with gold center pieces, original slide-rule dial and back panel. The cabinet retains its original shine but does have some paint loss (common for this almost 70-year old set if ever found). It does have a hairline running along the right rear edge which is not apparent when on display - see photo #4. It not only looks great, it also plays great across the dial with help from the set's built-in loop antenna. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 13-1/2"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D. |
