This five-tube set was introduced in June 1947 as part of Philco's 1948 line-up. Its showroom-shine cabinet is made of maroon (not painted) Polystyrene that, for some reason, especially appealed to women at the time. It's worth noting that, because its case is so thin, relatively few of the roughly 38,000 made still survive today - especially in this near mint condition. The radio with all-original two-color illuminated dial, dial glass, gold lacquer grille, knobs, bottom label, and back panel has been completely restored inside and out. It has no chips, cracks, or hairlines - just a few hardly noticeable, slight surface scratches remain. It picks up all my local AM stations loud and clear across the dial. Ready to play and display! Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 10-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 5-3/4"D. $375.00. (1750078)
