THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, this is one of the first table top radios Zenith produced after WWII. Just after the war, materials were scarce. This "Z" version was retrofitted to accept tube types available at that time (and which are still available today). This radio has been recently restored, both inside and out. Its gorgeously refinished walnut cabinet, inline Bakelite knobs (the one in front being the on/off switch, the one behind used for tuning), beautiful curved dial with clear dial glass, brass trim with tuning eye, grille cloth, back panel and bottom labels are all original and in mint shape. The chassis has been completely serviced recently so that this six-tube super het now picks up local stations across the AM band loud and clear. Ready to play and display! Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 13-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x 6"D. |
