Philco 53-563 Transitone "Split Level" (1953)
(plastic tube table radio)

Philco 53-563 Transitone "Split Level" (1953)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This obscure split-level radio is one of the coolest mid-century cabinet designs that Philco ever produced. The solid black plastic (not Bakelite) cabinet is in perfect condition and retains its gorgeous original ebony shine. The Lucite gold waffle grille is in mint condition as are the black knobs with gold center pieces. It comes complete with the original slide-rule dial, back and bottom label, each of which are in great shape too. It not only looks great, it also plays great across the dial with help from the set's built-in loop antenna. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 13-1/2"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D.
