All five Dionne Quintuplets survived to adulthood. They were born May 28, 1934, and at age 5 they were immortalized by Stewart-Warner on this hard to find Bakelite radio. The radio plays great and is in very good condition. This three-tube radio uses 12SA7, 70L7 and 25D8 and has a unique slender stylish look while sporting decals on the five quintuplets on both ends. The case is factory painted Ivory over black Bakelite. The original Ivory paint has some paint wear as is shown in the photos. The grille cloth is original and in excellent condition. The tuning knob has all the station markings and the volume knob has all the numbers. They are made of burnt orange Bakelite. The chassis is rust free. The capacitors have been replaced. The volume control and tuning condenser have been cleaned with contact cleaner. The decals on both ends are in very good condition with very little color fade. The aspect of the quintuplets being depicted on the decals is unique to radio. |
