Zenith 6-S-439 (1940)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Zenith 6-S-439 (1940)

NEW!Another beautiful black dial Zenith tabletop with awesome finish. Solid woods as well as two-toned veneer wrap-around which really accents this beauty. Brightly lit dial. It is a pre-War working BC/SW radio. You don't often see this classic pre-war Zenith for sale. It is six-tube AC superhet & receives the standard broadcast band and two short wave bands, has "automatic" or push-button tuning, and the Zenith RadiOrgan tone control (but this model has only two controls rather than the usual 5 or 6). It is about as clean as one can get with mostly original parts, including, knobs, speaker, push-buttons, grille cloth (maybe repro era correct), factory back, factory paper sticker on the bottom + two inside the cabinet. The chassis is pristine...looks new. The brass escutcheon has not been striped or polished and maintains the near perfect patina. Not sure about restoration status & not a real strong player, but plays good & plays better with attached external antenna. To be a daily player, you may wish to do some fine tuning & it is priced accordingly. Just a beautiful and desirable design that has made this model extremely popular with collectors. About 15-3/4"W x 9-1/2"H x 8-3/4"D.  $279.00. (1640336)
