Detrola 197 "Pee Wee" (1938)
(Plaskon tube table radio)

Detrola 197 "Pee Wee" (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Pristine Ivory/Red trim Plaskon midget. Sweet radio, with the coveted red trim including dial, knobs with clear numerals, factory feet (not repro) that still are attached with the factory rivets (see in pic) & also flawless. Nice all original set with perfect cabinet & trim. The cabinet was designed for Detrola by George W. Walker who is best known for his work at Ford Motor Co & is noted for his design of the 1955 Thunderbird. There are no breaks, stresses, scratches cracks, repairs, etc: consider it a 9.9 on scale of 10. Not even "rubs" ...flawless. It is a very clean, compact chassis as you can imagine. It is a fairly recent restore electronically & plays very well across the dial picking up all my locals with the factory short braided antenna wire. It is just very, very difficult to find one of these in any condition much less primo like this one. Great Deco appearance with the desirable color scheme & louvers, etc. New back from FYLP that really completes the effect and collectability. You can easily hold in one hand. From my personal smoke free collection & ready for play/display. 6-1/2"W x 4-1/2"H x 4"D.
