Detrola Jr. "Pee-Wee" 216 (1939)
(plastic tube table radio)

Detrola Jr. "Pee-Wee" 216 (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a Collector Grade, rare Model 216 Detrola Jr. Pee Wee one of the true Midget tube radios to come out of the Art Deco era. Some say it was designed to hold in the palm of your hand & that it does. I believe it to be the first time listing of this model on the Attic. The radio has the original dial + "mottled" knobs with no cracks or chips. Beautiful glossy mint green color. These came is several colors. It was professionally painted using expensive auto paint + three coats of clear + highly buffed accordingly. The case is in perfect cosmetic condition. No repairs were necessary as there were zero cosmetic issues. It is in perfect condition & ready for play/display. I rate it a 9.9 on 10 scale (flawless). The radio has been recapped, gone completely thru by a professional, and is playing fine, picking up all my local AM stations & beyond. It also sports a correct detailed repro back from FYLP. I have read that it was designed by George W. Walker who also designed the original Ford Thunderbird. This highly collectable little gem is just 6"W x 4"H x 4-1/2"D.
