Detrola Jr. "Pee-Wee" 216 (1939)
(plastic tube table radio)

Detrola Jr. "Pee-Wee" 216 (1939)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a Collector Grade, rare Model 216 Detrola Jr. Pee Wee – one of the true Midget tube radios to come out of the Art Deco era. Some say it was designed to hold in the palm of your hand & that it does. I believe it to be the first time listing of this model on the Attic. The radio has the original dial + "mottled" knobs with no cracks or chips. Beautiful glossy mint green color. These came is several colors. It was professionally painted using expensive auto paint + three coats of clear + highly buffed accordingly. The case is in perfect cosmetic condition. No repairs were necessary as there were zero cosmetic issues. It is in perfect condition & ready for play/display. I rate it a 9.9 on 10 scale (flawless). The radio has been recapped, gone completely thru by a professional, and is playing fine, picking up all my local AM stations & beyond. It also sports a correct detailed repro back from FYLP. I have read that it was designed by George W. Walker who also designed the original Ford Thunderbird. This highly collectable little gem is just 6"W x 4"H x 4-1/2"D.
