Atwater Kent 80 (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Atwater Kent 80 (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a “Grand” Atwater Kent cathedral which has to be one of the most desired & attractive of the AK cathedrals, at least from my view. The cabinet design of this one is simply gorgeous, with its twisting carved (“twisted rope”) pilasters supporting an arch with diagonal grained veneer + the burled front lower panel. The sides and arched top are walnut veneered, so this radio is a beauty from any angle. This is an excellent example of a highly collectible & classic from the Depression Era. AK, a Philly company. had a reputation for making the finest radios of this era. I believe this radio to be all original including knobs, speaker, grille cloth, tube shields, etc. I was told by the previous owner that it was recently restored and I have found no reason to believe otherwise. The chassis is very clean. This radio has a lighted dial and displays as well as it plays. It weighs 30+ lbs, but I do pack very well to ensure safe delivery. 19"H x 16"W x 10"D.
