THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Here is an excellent example of a highly collectible & classic AK cathedral, model 84, from the depression era. Atwater Kent, a Philly company, had a reputation for making the finest radios of this era. I believe this radio to be all original including knobs, speaker, grille cloth, tube shields, etc. One of the cleanest chassis you will find and a great playing radio, having been recently restored electronically. It plays very well picking up across the dial with lots of volume with short antenna wire (supplied). This radio is beautiful & quite remarkable for 91 years. The pointed arch, grille cut-outs & nice lighted dial & vertical trim really make it a show piece. No wonder it is a favorite among collectors. The radio is a classic super-het with automatic volume control. It is quite large & heavy, but I know how to pack & ship. Absolutely ready for play or display. 19"H x 15-1/2"W x 10"D. |
