Crosley 58TK "Pixie" (1948)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Crosley 58TK "Pixie" (1948)

Crosley's 1948 Model 58TK will not take up much room on the shelf. Trapezoidal shape, rounded corners, circular dial, and a gold woven grille cloth behind grille bars give this little gem character, and it's been one of my favorite "pixies." This one was well cared for over the decades, and after a careful detailing, it's looking much like it did new and has beautiful marbling in its Bakelite cabinet. The Bakelite cabinet is free of nicks, cracks, or repairs, and displays beautifully as seen in photos. Sorry for some reflections and shadows, but cabinet has no flaws. The dial scale has excellent graphics and numerals as seen in photos, and the dial pointer rotates smoothly around it. Crosley did not outfit this model with a lighted dial. Controls work smoothly as they should, and this five-tube set receives all my local AM stations using its internal loop antenna, tho not a great performer. Radio has its original knobs, grille cloth, speaker, and backboard, etc., as well the factory sticker on the bottom side. 8-1/2"W x 5-1/2"H x 5-1/2"D.  $159.00. (1640258)
