Here is an early Bakelite radio from General Electric with stylish, wonderful rounded ends, ribbed sides and heavy swirling, busy complex grille area which was all molded Bakelite and quite unusual for the era. It is all original with absolutely no cracks, repairs, scratches or dis-colorizations. This is a really handsome Art Deco GE which is ready for play/display. Recent electronic restore & plays loud & clear picking up all my locals & beyond. Sensitivity and sound quality are excellent. When introduced in late 40's it was a definite trend setter which was to become the most popular style of radio for the next few years. Unlike most later Bakelite sets with cardboard back, this one has an elaborately molded Bakelite rear cover as well. Simply looks in "as new" condition. Displays great from any angle, even the open grilled Bakelite back and built-in loop antenna. About 10"W x 7"H x 7-1/2"D.
