Garod (Grebe) 1450 (1940)
(Catalin tube table radio)

Garod (Grebe) 1450 (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Rare Garod 1450 "Peak-Top" Catalin radio sold under the private label of Grebe. Beautiful red/maroon case with marbleized butterscotch trim. The Catalin cabinet has a deep shine that makes its rich color glow with striking marbleized butterscotch Catalin trim. Sorry for any shadows or reflections. The radio is in original condition & just a stunning example of this Garod model, which is seldom seen in colors other than all butterscotch and in this fine condition. No cracks, chips, tube burns, breaks, or repairs to the Catalin cabinet or trim. The cabinet has taken on a beautiful almost translucent reddish color in light that is striking. Original knobs, clean chassis, dial, grille, decal, and factory sticker, etc. Back is a repro. The only flaw that I can find is when holding up to natural light there is a very tight stress on right top right corner above the grille area. You cannot feel with finger nail on inside or outside & have to look closely to even see. The radio works fine after electronic restore, but I never play my Catalins nor pick them up by the handle. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition. About 10-1/2"W x 8"H x 5-7/8"D.
