Kennedy 42 "Coronet" (1931)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Kennedy 42 "Coronet" (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

1931 Kennedy by The Colin B. Kennedy Company of San Fransisco, CA. Original finish & built like a tank. I could not bring myself to refinish it as it displays very well as is and *only* original once. All I did is wipe it down with Howard's oil. This set is one that you rarely see, and has a very unique cabinet, tulip cutout grille design, with features of both cathedral style and tombstone style cabinets, flaring out at the bottom (unique) It has what appears to be original cloth power cord and Bakelite plug. The three knobs are original as is the speaker, but grille cloth appears to be era correct replacement. Although it is in "as found" condition, it does play well across the dial picking up all my locals and beyond with short wire antenna. This is a very sought after set and this one is as good as it gets. The chassis is gorgeous and very clean, still has its big copper capacitor on the chassis which is always missing on these. This set is as original as you will ever find, if you can even find one of these. This is a very high end set and will be a great addition to the best of collections. They are only original once. 17"H x 16-3/4"W x 10-1/2"D.
