THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Here is one of the most popular and beautiful Zenith tombstones with the ever popular "Black Dial." The radio is a five-tube super-het that plays on both AM and Shortwave. The dial lights up beautifully and bright in green, red and yellow and changes as you flip between the bands. The previous owner refinished nicely within the last year plus completely restored electronically. The tubes and resistors were checked and replaced as needed. The radio plays like beautifully picking up stations all across the dial. The speaker cloth is an accurate replacement, period correct and in excellent condition. The radio retains the iconic "Z" wood knobs which are Zenith originals as is dial and cover + bezel retains original patina vs. the sometimes removal to show the brass. These are one of the most popular models, nicely sized and a solid player. A gorgeous radio and a great display of curly maple inlay strips around the bottom sides of the walnut cabinet. Depression era radios are getting harder to find, and this one has that Art Deco design that most collectors want, and some 80+ years later, & are still very collectible. Great play/display set. 18"H x 12-1/2"W x 8"D. |
