Philco 53-566 (1953)
(plastic tube table radio)

Philco 53-566 (1953)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a stunning Mid-Century Philco Transitone, without cracks or chips or repairs and looks fantastic with an original shiny finish. Right out of the Jetsons! The radio is maroon in color. A striking futuristic looking radio from the mid fifties! The "look" from the back is just as cool as the front! It has been electronically restored recently and aligned and plays great! There is a second "Special Services" band that does work, but the frequency doesn't get much use these days. All five tubes are strong and the chassis is clean, too. Absolutely minimal wear. Just one of those radios with styling that captures the era perfectly. All original including knobs with "brights," dial, bottom + factory sticker. The "Philco Transitone" lettering below dial are near perfect as well (un re-touched). Same for the dial...and has excellent graphics. The cord and plug are in great condition too. Please review all photos as they are part of the description. This is an excellent example that would be a wonderful addition to any collection or an unforgettable gift. Will be packed expertly using heavy duty box + all new materials. 14"W x 9-1/2"H x 8"D.
