Sylvania R519 (1956)
(Plaskon tube table radio)

Sylvania R519 (1956)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Seldom seen or offered for sale. Mid-Century at its best! The set will brighten a room or collection nicely with its two tone factory color scheme of Aqua front grille and white cabinet. It's nicely accented with the two large symmetrical gold trimmed side knobs, one for tuning, and one for volume plus the concave front grille shows so much style for that era or this. The tuning knob has AM frequencies stamped including the CD marks. Recently restored electronically and plays clearly and loudly across the dial picking up all my locals and beyond. Dial rotates smoothly, numerals and graphics on the tuning knob are sharp. All the lettering is perfect. The five-tube design works well, receiving AM stations across the band with clear sound Radio was well cared for over the decades, and hasn’t a nick, crack, scratch or mark on its cabinet except there is a chigger bite on the tuning knob edge only between the 5 & 6, but hardly noticeable plus two very slight/short stresses (typical for Plaskon sets) on backside top edge which I tried to capture in one of the last pics. Should ship quite cheaply (I do pack well). 12"W x 6-1/2"H x 6"D; weighs 4 lbs.
