Crosley 634 Tombstone (1937)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Crosley 634 Tombstone (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here we have a beautiful 1937 Crosley tombstone and only the 2nd ever offered on the Attic I do believe. The sales model number for this set was 634, while the chassis model number was 656. Crosley did this more than once and this chassis was also used in other models. This wonderful six-tube, two-band (AM,SW) Super-Heterodyne radio has great sensitivity across the dial. This high performing chassis is also used on Crosley's model 649 console radio. What a beautiful, large (6-inch) Red, White, & Blue dial, even more impressive when lit up. WLW, which was Crosley's own radio station located at 700 kHz on the AM dial (Cincinnati, OH). and the center of the dial features "Two Worlds" globes separated by WLW's Blaw-Knox radio tower. Simply a beautiful dial, especially when lit. Older restore, but plays very well with the attached short antenna wire picking up all my locals and beyond. Also picked up some SW, but that needs longer antenna. The knobs, chassis, speaker, grille cloth, dial and finish are all original. The finish shows some very light wear, but it is so good I could simply not refinish as it looks awesome as is & far too good to molest IMHO. 15-1/2"H x 12-1/2"W x 8"D.
