Emerson 879 Portable (1952)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Emerson 879 Portable (1952)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here's some color to add to any/all collections. Beautiful Mid Century Emerson portable in turquoise/aqua (actually darker than pics.) with perfect gold grille. This is an AC/DC set that is playing very well on AC with what looks to be a new power cord. This is a four-tuber that also plays on two batteries, but not tested on them as I do not have 7-1/2 volt "A" and 67-1/2 volt "B." The handle which folds down when in display or play mode is perfect as is the dial and grille area with the Emerson logo clear and crisp in the middle/bottom of the grille. The cabinet is in excellent condition with no repairs, breaks, cracks, or major scratches. There four or five small nicks on backside only and not bad at all. The insides are very clean and the complete factory sticker is intact inside the cabinet. Also the cord can be stored inside when not in use. Great display and plays well picking up all my local stations and beyond. Only 8"W x 6"H x 3-1/2"D.
