THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Beautiful, artsy, sleek, all original, streamlined Garod Catalin 6AU1 with burgundy case and butterscotch knobs and handle designed by John Sideli. Has the full Garod decal on the lower front. No cracks, chips or hairlines, stresses, repairs nor major scratches; near perfect and I would rate a 9.5 on 10 scale. There were two versions of this model, this is the more difficult to find and more desirable if you will (IMHO) with the wrap-around grille. Sorry for the glare/reflections... not flaws. The dial is also excellent with working pilot light. Has original grille cloth in excellent condition. Also has Garod label and UL label on the bottom. Radio plays great. Picks up many stations across the dial clearly. Six tubes. Has original factory back, but there is some sort of residue drips that I will not try to remove as it could do damage and the purist in me says "leave it alone." Having said that I have a new factory reproduction with correct embossing that I will include if buyer wishes to change. I have not mounted, but did lean it up against old one for effect (see last pic). This radio was manufactured in 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. 11"W x 6-1/2"H x 6"D. |
