RCA "Tubehead" Cameo Doll (1927)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

I've seen a couple dozen of these "Tubeheads," and I don't normally buy this early stuff, but this one was by far the best original I had ever seen. This 16" tall store display doll was made by the Cameo Doll Company of New York City, and still has the original Cameo sticker on the bottom of the left foot. The design for this was done by Joseph Kallus, a famous 20s and 30s doll designer. The design was inspired by Maxwell Parish. The doll has crazing on his shirt, and paint chips around the bottom of the shirt. There is a hairline across his face, and paint wear to his hair. The strings that hold the arms and legs together are good, That said, I don't think you can buy a better original at any price.
