| I bought this set of six 1956 Crosley hybrid tube/transistor Book Radios from a friend over 20 years ago, and have never seen anyone else offer these as a set, anywhere. One of the first sets to use transistors in 1956, each has three miniature tubes and two transistors for outputs. "Fantasy" is model JM-8MN, serial #4474. "Magic Mood" is model JM-8GN, serial #14066. "Treasure Island" is model JM-8WE, serial #15298. "Musical Memories" is model JM-8BG, the serial # is missing. "Enchantment" is model JM-8BK, serial #27620. "As You Like It" is model JM-8BNa, serial #38224. Note the "a" in its model number, as this later book has the on/off on the volume dial instead of being actuated by the cover of the book. Four of these are excellent to exceptional and may never have been used. The other two are better than most others I've seen. Radios are untested but complete. I'm sure some work, or could be made to work easily with some new capacitors if necessary. My son says it is time for a new owner to enjoy these, so here you go. Sorry, I will not break up the set. Each book is 7"H x 4-1/2"W x 2"D. |
