Vintage 1959 Channel Master model 6514 dual band AM/Marine eight-transistor radio. The radio receives AM broadcast stations on 54 KHZ to 1600 KHZ. The Marine band is a segment of the shortwave band. 1.85 Mhz to 4.0 Mhz. This is a nite time band. I was able to receive CHU Canada, Hams, WWV, and many other foreign Stations with the internal antenna only. This radio does have capability to use external antennas (not supplied). I restored this radio with all brand new capacitors , and other components as needed. Retuned all circuits. Replaced the battery connector with brand new heavy duty one. Replaced battery holder with brand new unit. Cleaned entire radio inside, and out. There are no chips, cracks, or dents. The audio plays clear, and loud. Radio requires four "AA" batteries (not included). Radio does come with leather case that needs some stitching. |
