| Here is a nice Sonora RZLU-222. This is a six-tube Superheterodyne design with an RF gain stage in the front-end for great sensitivity. The cabinet of this radio was sanded down, properly primed and painted in an Antique White enamel as close as possible to the original color. The paint is not perfect, but the radio presents very well. Electronically, the radio is 100% restored. All electrolytic and paper capacitors were replaced, all resistors were checked, and all weak or marginal tubes were replaced. The radio was then given a full alignment per the factory specifications. This radio is ready to go and sounds very nice. The glass dial lights up nicely in a dark room. An external antenna can be connected at the rear for even greater sensitivity. |
