Tele-Tone 135
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Tele-Tone 135

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This tiny radio from about 1946 has a beautiful Bakelite cabinet with a nice swirl pattern. The good condition of the cabinet can be seen in the pictures. It's not perfect (very few 70 year old radios are), but it cleaned up beautifully and is not cracked anywhere. This radio is worthy of display and operation anywhere. Despite its diminutive cabinet, this radio is a five-tube superheterodyne design, and has sensitivity greater than one can usually expect from such a small size (at night, this radio easily receives a broadcast from KMOX in St. Louis, MO down here in North Texas). It also has an interesting "hold down" plate which keeps the tubes firmly in their sockets using springs. This radio has been fully serviced (new capacitors, resistors checked, tubes tested and replaced as needed), and has a brand new polarized cord installed. While servicing this radio, I found a service receipt from 1947 inside! This cool piece of history will be included with the radio (glass not included).
