| This Philco tabletop radio is in a nice Art Deco cabinet. It's a six-tube set, AC only, receiving both standard AM and shortwave 5.5 - 19 MHz. There is an old decal on the front from the original dealer, in Norwich, CT. Electronically restored, it receives well, though remember that it will need an outside antenna and a good earth ground for anything other than nearby stations. The knobs are all original. The power cord is a replacement, as is the grille cloth. The finish, though dark, is restored original. I cleaned it, re-stained scratches and such, and added a new coat of lacquer for protection. The pin-striping is good. Be aware though that the cabinet had a rough life, so expect old scratches and various blemishes. It would be brighter if I refinished it, but I did not want to lose the old Philco decal or the dealer's. About 17"W x 11"H x 9"D. Shipping weight will be approximately 28 pounds in an 18" x 18" x 18" box. |
