Zenith Royal 3000-1
(plastic transistor portable radio w/FM/SW)

Zenith Royal 3000-1

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Works very well and I believe on all bands although I don't know what to look for on SW as far as stations. I did hear some however. The sound is surprisingly rich with great volume and tone. The exterior has some age to it but no damage or missing parts. There's some minor pitting and a wee finish loss at edge of front. The manual is included with some wear. I rigged up a C battery system because I don't have the stock battery holder so if you do have a battery holder you're in luck as this radio would be splendid with the actual one. With wires just attached (not soldered) it works great with the C batteries attached. Anyway, when I tried to tap the 1.5 volt battery to light I think I burnt out the light and might have done it wrong as light came on bright and then went out. I thought for sure I had that right. Regardless, if you need the light to work then you'll need to re-rig it (or preferably get the actual battery box) and get a light bulb. Sorry! Another idea is to buy the AC power cord and plug it in.
