THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
DeWald produced famous and highly collectible Catalin radios but not many wood cased models. I believe this was their largest radio and it certainly has an impressive appearance. It features a "roof top" style cabinet, which is wider at the base and a stunning brass dial escutcheon. The cabinet has been nicely restored and I believe the chassis was also restored a number of years ago. The technician chose to retain the seldom seen twisted pair wire power cord, which has now become a bit too frayed for safe operation, at least in my opinion. Hence, this set is sold as-is. Nevertheless, it's a wonderfully unique display radio at an affordable price. It weighs 30 pounds; 17-1/2"H x 13-1/2"W x 9-3/4"D. |
