Emerson Wondergram Phonograph (1960s)
(metal phonograph)

Emerson Wondergram Phonograph (1960s)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Emerson portable phonograph is really something special; some might even call it "wonderful!" Introduced as the Baird Wondergram in the UK in 1960, it eventually traveled to the USA where it was marketed by Emerson. However, our specific phonograph was made in England. This phonograph is the definition of portable in that once it's unfolded, you'll notice that it sits atop its own three legs which elevate the player's mechanicals and allows the down-facing speaker to radiate sound. You're not obligated to use a cord. None is needed, nor provided! The Wondergram operates on four "C" batteries. This phonograph plays 33-1/3 LPs and comes with an adapter for 45s. And, when you're done using it, this phonograph folds up and can be placed into its own after-market vinyl carrying case for portability. Since coming into our possession, our restorer has repaired a broken wire, re-positioned SW wires, replaced a capacitor, adjusted the tone arm, and replaced its cartridge. 4-1/2"W x 8-3/4"D x 2"H; it stands 3-1/2"H when fully unfolded.
