| This nice Philco cathedral works well, is very sensitive, but has not been completely restored. I was able to receive many stations on the broadcast band with a short antenna. The cabinet had work previous to my ownership. A piece of veneer was replaced on the front top and it appears some refinishing took place. Case is solid but there are some small dings in the veneer. Grille cloth is incorrect. Knobs look to be original. Filter caps and many of the paper caps were replaced. Cord is not original. Chassis and speaker have typical corrosion which photos show quite well. Cabinet is solid with all the stickers present. This is a very nice radio and would look nice in any collection. Philco made several versions of the model 89 and I believe this is the best version. |
