THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This Emerson, introduced in the summer
of 1935 for the 1936 season, was offered in walnut
colored Bakelite, ivory Plaskon and black Bakelite. The 108 is now one of the most collectible of all Emersons. This outstanding example displays the brown/walnut Bakelite finish, which retains a terrific glossy finish. It has its original knobs and grille cloth. This Emerson is damage free; it has a few scratches, but nothing significant. None of the typical cracks and chips normally found with this radio. The dial face is also damage/scratch free. The plastic dial lens is also in very nice condition. As you can see in the pictures, it has the original back. One of the screws holding the back in place is missing. The radio lights up and plays with a loud speaker hum. If you want an outstanding example of a classic Emerson U5A, this set will be a valuable addition to your collection. It is a real attention getter. Be prepared for compliments. Shipping will be determined based on final destination. 10"H x 7"W x 5"D. |
