Zenith 8H034 AM+2FM (1946)
(wood tube table radio)

Zenith 8H034 AM+2FM (1946)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This historically-important set tunes both the original FM band (42-48.5 MHz) and the modern 88-108 MHz FM band, as well as the AM broadcast band. Very few radios like this were ever made, since the transitional period was brief and FM broadcasting had not yet caught on with the public. Its 8-tube circuit has been restored and aligned (at 8.3 MHz!) and plays well, while not up to 21st-century standards. For the broadcast band there is a loop antenna; FM performance is better with an external antenna. The finish on the wooden cabinet has a few rough spots, no major flaws. There are scratches on the dial where the pointer has rubbed on it (there is no dial window). 15"W x 9"H x 8"D.
