THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This farm radio was designed electrically along the lines of the portables of the day, and originally operated from dry-cell batteries. Then when the "high wire" came along circa 1948, someone installed a Perma-Power power pack to convert it to AC. Mechanically however, it goes beyond the portable style, with a larger speaker, table-top wooden cabinet and pushbutton tuning. Unlike a portable, it has no built-in antenna. Broadcast band only. Coronado was a brand of the Gamble-Skogmo Co. of Minneapolis, that used to operate a chain of stores in rural areas.
The knobs don't match. There is some hum, partly from vibration in the power pack.
17"W x 15"H x 12"D. |
