THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The exact age is unclear. The RadioMuseum suggests 1954. This is consistent with the mixed tube types (four are peanut tubes, two are octal).
Features: concave-front cabinet with knobs on the two ends; 8" speaker; extra tube just for tone control; power transformer; input jack for record player or other source. Broadcast band only. There is part of a swivel mechanism underneath, suggesting that it may have been a hotel radio. The model number designates a "silver walnut" finish, but the actual finish is mahogany, which should have model number H-457T6. The original tuning knob has been replaced by a reproduction turned out of wood and painted to match. Plays well and sounds impressive. 14-1/2"W x 9-1/2"H x 6"D. |
