Federal 59 Regenerative Receiver
(wood tube casket radio)

Federal 59 Regenerative Receiver

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is an exceptionally nice Federal regenerative receiver. The cabinet is especially nice with no de-lamination and nice original finish. The front panel is also excellent and the nickel plated parts are clean and not corroded. This is a working radio and one of the very best performing regenerative receivers. The set has variable RF amplification and really pulls in the signals; it is remarkably easy to tune compared to other regenerative sets. I would keep it except that I have a Federal 61 which is so similar as to make having both hard to justify. It works so well that I was able to pick up a station in Toronto from here in South Carolina, using a 15 ft long wire antenna! This is an unusually nice model 59! It will be well packed in foam rubber in a large box. You will need an ARBEE-III power supply and high impedance headphones or a good early horn in order to use it.
